During Fox News’ election coverage, on a night when attention should’ve been on actual candidates, Shepard Smith turned his attention to his colleague Sarah Palin. If she does one day decide to run for office, Smith asked her, would she talk to media outlets that aren’t Fox News, the network at which she currently has exclusive “protection”? Palin’s answer was not promising—for curious voters or for her potential candidacy.

She began by reminding Smith that she can’t be “constrained”: “I can still talk to whomever I want to.”

MSNBC president Phil Griffin made the decision after learning Olbermann donated to three Democratic candidates this election cycle.

Keith Olbermann has been suspended without pay from MSNBC after it was learned he donated to three Democrats this election. Chris Hayes will fill in for him Friday night.

"I became aware of Keith's political contributions late last night. Mindful of NBC News policy and standards, I have suspended him indefinitely without pay," MSNBC president Phil Griffin said in a statement, as obtained by The Huffington Post.

The Countdown host donated $2,400 each to Reps. Raul Grijalva and Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona, and to Kentucky Senate candidate Jack Conway, Politico reported Friday.

In NBC Interview, Bush Calls Kanye's On-Air Insult Worst Moment of Presidency (Media Mob)

Cover of "Decision Points"Cover of Decision Points November 3, 2010

In anticipation of the Nov. 9 release of his memoir Decision Points, George W. Bush will sit down with Matt Lauer for a prime-time news special this Monday to talk over the experiences relayed in the book. In the excerpts released yesterday in a press release, the NBC anchor grilled the ex-head of state on the memoir's key moments — namely 9/11, the Iraq War, Hurricane Katrina, etc.

But which of these events — all of them defining disasters of this millennium — does Bush consider the worst moment of his presidency? None, actually! It seems Bush is the latest victim of the cutting disses Kanye West can sneak into his nimble, dexterous flow. The offending quip, of course, was West's assertion, on an NBC Katrina telethon, that "George Bush doesn't care about black people." Bush admits that 'Ye burned him hard.

Top Republicans in Washington and in the national GOP establishment say the 2010 campaign highlighted an urgent task that they will begin in earnest as soon as the elections are over: Stop Sarah Palin.

Interviews with advisers to the main 2012 presidential contenders and with other veteran Republican operatives make clear they see themselves on a common, if uncoordinated, mission of halting the momentum and credibility Palin gained with conservative activists by plunging so aggressively into this year’s midterm campaigns. ‘My Girl’s A Republican’ Rap Song Mines Double Entendre From Every Big Conservative Figure (Mediaite)

It’s an old complaint that you hear all the time: “Political discourse in this country is fascinating…but can you dance to it?” Fortunately, thanks to The Real, you now can. The group has released a new song and video entitled “My Girl’s a Republican” that’s catchy and hilarious enough to keep you dancing all the way to voting booth tomorrow.

The Real is a “hip hop sketch comedy” group (a typical video parodies “The Boy Who Cried Wolf” by using the story of Dr. Dre’s Detox, the rap world’s Chinese Democracy). For the song, they’ve basically taken every conservative figure or scandal from the past few years and mashed them together for a pun and double entendre-filled ode to the character, wiles, and sexual prowess of a sexy Sister Grizzly. It’s accompanied by an equally entertaining video which uses homemade effects, singing Glenn Beck, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, and Rudy Guiliani heads to showcase the song in (what appears to be) one take.

Meet the Guy Who Told the World About Christine O’Donnell’s Pubes (New York Magazine)

Who knew? Turns out the Tea Party was just ano...Christine O'Donnell, image by Felix_Nine via FlickrIt takes an unheard of amount of skill scumminess to unite all factions of the Internet behind Christine O'Donnell, someone the Internet usually enjoys mocking to no end. But according to the Smoking Gun, Dustin Dominiak is the guy who, with an anonymous Gawker essay that revealed information about O'Donnell's lady parts, was able to do it. They tracked him down through his former roommate, Brad Kurisko, a Boy Scouts of America employee whose uniform Dominiak was wearing for Halloween in the photos that ran with the Gawker story. They couldn't get Kurisko to tell them who "Anonymous" was, but soon enough, Kurisko and "Anonymous" gave it away by accident.

Fox News Estimates Jon Stewart’s Crowd at Seven People (Borowitz Report)

Constructing SanityImage by TalkMediaNews via FlickrWASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report) – The Fox News Channel reported today that the turnout for Jon Stewart’s “Rally to Restore Sanity” was underwhelming at best, with Fox sources estimating the total turnout at seven people.

“Our total count includes Stewart, [Stephen] Colbert, and what appear to be a few of their friends and relatives,” said Fox anchor Shepard Smith.  “This has to be a smaller crowd than they were expecting.”
