Pat Buchanan Defends Tax Cuts for Private Jets and Pretends Poor People Don't Pay Any Taxes (CrooksAndLiars.com)

MSNBC finally took Mark Halperin off the air for all the wrong reasons this week after he said President Obama acted like a "dick" because he dared to call out the Republicans for acting like spoiled children during these debt ceiling talks. I wonder what it would take to get this racist relic Pat Buchanan to finally leave their airwaves as well?
The mild mannered Martin Bashir, who actually did a good job of calling out Mitch McConnell the previous day with his revisionist history on who's to blame for our deficit skyrocketing, found himself outgunned by the volatile and aggressive Pat Buchanan during this segment where Buchanan was brought on to discuss the negotiations over raising the debt ceiling, and where Buchanan insisted that Republicans should stick to their guns no matter what and force Democrats and President Obama to accept massive budget cuts with absolutely no increases in taxes, even if those taxes are on a privileged few, like private jet owners.

Inside Sarah Palin's Movie Premiere For 'The Undefeated' (The Hollywood Reporter)
Not the Sarah Palin movie (and not the "celebrity" from Michele Bachmann's Iowa hometown), this is the cover of The UndefeatedMr. Media® Radio Network • Email • Twitter • Facebook • LinkedIn • YouTube

There was no red carpet and no bright lights – it wasn’t even dark yet. And the biggest celebrity in attendance, Sarah Palin, decided at the last moment not to pull up to the theater in an SUV but to park it around the corner and stroll down the street unannounced. She was about 50 yards out when the media hordes noticed and repositioned their cameras.
Palin was in Pella – population 10,000 – for the world premiere of The Undefeated, a documentary about her political career. She was dressed casually in bellbottom jeans and a shiny, silver belt, and was accompanied by her husband, Todd.

Despite announcing that press would be banned from theater, a few media outlets (including THR) obtained last-minute seats for the debut of the former VP candidate's documentary.

In Major Gaffe, Bachmann Confuses Ass, Hole in Ground (Borowitz Report)
Michele Bachmann, image via WikipediaMr. Media® Radio Network • Email • Twitter • Facebook • LinkedIn • YouTube
ARIZONA (The Borowitz Report) – In a fledgling campaign that has already produced more than its share of gaffes, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn) today confused her ass with a hole in the ground during a campaign swing through Arizona.
Speaking to a group of supporters in Phoenix, Rep. Bachmann raised eyebrows when she said, “It’s great to be here in Arizona, the home of my ass.”
After her comment was greeted with confused murmurs from the crowd, Rep. Bachmann quickly added, “Oh wait, did I say my ass? I meant the Grand Canyon.”

Sinking G.O.P. Poll Numbers May Put Florida in Play (New York Times)
Florida Go. Rick Scott, image via WikipediaMr. Media® Radio Network • Email • Twitter • Facebook • LinkedIn • YouTube

June 27, 2011
MIAMI — In the past few weeks, Gov. Rick Scott has traveled around the state extolling the accomplishments of the recent legislative session and promoting his success in pushing Florida down a more conservative, financially sound path.
So why is his approval rating the lowest of any governor in America?
“I don’t think about it,” Mr. Scott said in a brief interview when asked about his 29 percent approval rating in a Quinnipiac University poll conducted in May. More alarming for the governor: his negative rating has soared from 22 percent in February shortly after he entered office to 57 percent, suggesting that the more Floridians get to know him, the less they like him.
Mr. Scott, however, chalks up the numbers to his agenda. “Everybody’s scared about change,” he said. “I’m going to make the tough decisions because I know, long-term, they pay off. But, you know, short-term, everybody is worried about change.”

Glenn Beck To Rick Santorum: ‘I Could Kiss You In The Mouth’ (Gawker)

What should have been just another interminable conversation between two mind-boggling A-holes took an intriguing turn down Rainbow Alley last night, when Fox News host (and self-loathing Gleek) Glenn Beck accidentally blurted out, "I could kiss you in the mouth" to Rick Santorum on Thursday's show. (It was in response to Santorum saying that he'd signed the "Cut, Cap and Balance" pledge, which is apparently the fiscal conservative equivalent of announcing, "I just scored a pair of Lady Gaga floor seats!")

On the day after Jon Huntsman announced his candidacy for the Republican presidential nomination,
he continued his twin strategies of refraining from personal attacks on
President Obama while taking direct aim at his policies, particularly
when it comes to national security and the war in Afghanistan.
"I respect the President," Huntsman said yesterday when he kicked off his official campaign with a speech at Liberty State Park in New Jersey. "He and I have a difference of opinion on how to help the country we both love. But the question each of us wants the voters to answer is who will be the better president, not who's the better American."
