This is a RUSH transcript from "The O'Reilly Factor," June 2, 2010. This copy may not be in its final form and may be updated.

BILL O'REILLY, HOST: In the "Miller Time" segment tonight: Dennis is worked up about three things, so let's get right to the D-man, who joins us from Los Angeles.
All right. Oil spill, and you know, where you live off the coast of Santa Barbara, you've got the big oil derricks out there going up and down and this and that. So what's your take on this whole deal?

DENNIS MILLER, FOX NEWS CONTRIBUTOR: Well, I find NIMBY-ism unbecoming, so I'm glad the oil well's there. We've got to get power from somewhere, and they light them up at Christmas so that it looks nice, so it's fine with me.
I think — I think what this comes down to is President Barack Obama seems to have a sign on his desk that says, "The buck starts here." And this is turning into a Benny Hill sketch, Bill, and I don't understand your reticence. I think you disparage him in an odd way when, for the first time in the history — and what have we had 44 presidents — he is going to be the one who doesn't get blamed for everything. Every president gets blamed for everything.
O'REILLY: I'm trying to be fair here. You know me.
MILLER: I guess, I guess. But it looks like you're contorting yourself, Billy. I don't think any of these...
O'REILLY: I'm not contorting. I'm not contorting.
MILLER: All right, fine. I'm just telling you my observation is presidents get blamed for stuff. And if this goes through August or Christmas, I bet you there will be a day somewhere in there where you'll start to get bugged by him a little.

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R – MN) recently recorded a interview with conservative radio host Ben Shapiro, and lashed into President Obama. The most noteworthy comments include calling his response to the BP oil spill “infantile,” claiming that Obama is siding with Islam against Israel and…wait for it: saying he’s the worst president in American history. Now that’s hyperbole!

Sarah Palin Slams Obama on Oil Spill (New York Daily News)

SHARM EL SHEIKH/EGYPT, 19MAY08 - Tony Hayward,...Tony Hayward, image via Wikipedia
President Obama’s admission that he doesn’t talk to BP boss Tony Hayward has sparked an angry broadside from former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

Writing on her Facebook page this evening, Palin, of “Drill, baby, drill” fame, argues the non-communication shows Obama just doesn’t get it.

“To fellow baffled Americans,” Palin writes, “this revelation is further proof that it bodes well to have some sort of executive experience before occupying the Oval Office (as if the painfully slow response to the oil spill, confusion of duties, finger-pointing, lack of preparedness, and inability to grant local government simple requests weren’t proof enough).

“The current administration may be unaware that it’s the President’s duty, meeting on a CEO-to-CEO level with Hayward, to verify what BP reports,” she declares.

Agree or not, at least it’s a reasonable argument. But we’re not sure her conclusion follows.

Fox and Friends Criticize DOJ Investigation Into BP & Gulf Oil Spill (Mediaite)

June 2nd, 2010

News broke yesterday that the Department of Justice is launching an investigation into whether any laws or regulations have been violated by BP in the lead-up to (and clean-up efforts) of the Gulf oil spill. This morning’s stock market opened much lower, in part due to the 15% sudden decrease in BP’s market cap valuation, or so surmised the hosts of Fox and Friends this morning.

Hosts Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade reported on the $20 Billion dip in market cap as a result of the DOJ investigation and openly wondered how smart it was for Attorney General Eric Holder to make an announcement that lead to the dip in the Dow index. Doocy exasperatedly wonders how BP is going to get that $20 Billion back if they are faced with all these lawsuits.

Stories that could rock the summer (Politico)

Citizens registered as an Independent, Democra...Image via Wikipedia

On the eve of the summer campaign doldrums, the narrative for the midterm elections seems well-established: Big losses are in store for Democrats in November, incumbents of all stripes ought to be looking over their shoulders and the political establishments in both parties are out of favor.

Yet as fixed as those story lines might seem at the moment, there’s plenty that could still go wrong — or right — to alter the Democratic Party's or Republican Party’s trajectory over the next few months.

Natural disasters could wreak havoc. Crimes might be exposed. Jaw-dropping gaffes that could be committed, and unforeseen political forces could yet be unleashed.

The President Obama/BP Oil Spill pile-on continues. It’s starting to feel like the new media sporting event. Over at CNN last night James Carville continued his tirade calling for “heads to roll” and the normally low key David Gergen noted that “if our government had fought WWII like the way we’re fighting the oil spill, there’s a good chance many of us would be speaking German today.” Them’s fighting words!
