(Newser) – Is the real Christine O’Donnell really just like you? Rebecca Dana of the Daily Beast decided to ask the candidate's old neighbors to find out, and most spoke relatively well of her. “To me, she never said anything nuts,” said one teacher at a nearby Catholic school. Another recalls her as a “sweet girl” who once baked him and his roommates burnt cookies. “We probably flirted with her a little bit, and she flirted a little bit back.”

Rand Paul, Jack Conway Brawl Over 'Aqua Buddha' (Newser)

(Newser) – The words “ugly” and “new low” are being tossed around a lot in reports of last night’s Kentucky Senate debate, in which Rand Paul and Jack Conway sparred over a new Conway ad bashing Paul for his alleged “Aqua Buddha” shenanigans. (Background available here and here.) Paul accused Conway of attacking his religious beliefs. Conway said the ad wasn't about religion, to howls from the crowd. “Values matter,” he protested. “When is it ever a good idea to tie up a woman and ask her to kneel before Aqua Buddha?”

Rand Paul's accuser clarifies "kidnapping" (Washington Post)

The woman who sparked a national firestorm by recounting Rand Paul's
youthful indiscretions to GQ magazine is now clarifying her account: She says she was not kidnapped nor forced to do drugs by Paul.

But she reiterated other odd aspects of her earlier story, including her claim that Paul and another college friend blindfolded her, tied her up, and told her to smoke pot and worship the "Aqua Buddha," even if they didn't physically force her to do these things.
