(Newser) – Is the real Christine O’Donnell really just like you? Rebecca Dana of the Daily Beast decided to ask the candidate's old neighbors to find out, and most spoke relatively well of her. “To me, she never said anything nuts,” said one teacher at a nearby Catholic school. Another recalls her as a “sweet girl” who once baked him and his roommates burnt cookies. “We probably flirted with her a little bit, and she flirted a little bit back.”

Christine O’Donnell Was Once Inside a Building at Oxford University (New York Magazine)

Christine O'Donnell is being accused of more lying, this time about her claim to have taken a course at England's esteemed Oxford University, which you probably could have guessed was false.
O'Donnell's LinkedIn bio page lists "University of Oxford" as one of the schools she attended, claiming she studied "Post Modernism in the New Millennium." But it turns out that was just a course conducted by an institution known as the Phoenix Institute, which merely rented space at Oxford ....
"It wasn't an official course of Oxford University," [the program's overseer Chris] Fletcher said. "It wasn't sponsored by Oxford University. We rented the space."

During one of her many appearances on Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher in the '90s, Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell (R-DE) sparred with now-Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) over sex, condoms and hypocrisy.

The first topic: A provision in then-President Bill Clinton's welfare reform bill that would fund sex ed, but only if the curriculum taught that extra-marital sex "will have harmful physical and psychological effects."

O'Donnell, who in May 1997 was the director of pro-abstinence SALT, argues that abstinence-only education was the only way to protect kids from HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases, because "condoms don't work. Condoms fail."

Franken responds, "I think hypocrisy will have harmful psychological and physical effects. Don't you?"

And don't miss Star Parker asking, "Where's the condom for your heart?"

For years there’s been debate over whether or not mocking a politician’s family (particularly their children) is fair game. For the most part, political opponents and comedians have kept their swipes at the Chelsea Clintons and the Bush Twins of the world to a minimum. This morning though, Glenn Beck clearly stepped over the line when he began insulting and denigrating 11-year old Malia Obama.

Media Matters reported that Beck spent more than four minutes making fun of the now-infamous “Did you plug the hole yet, Daddy?” quote from Obama’s press conference. While most of Beck’s jokes were aimed at the president himself, one line in particular moved the sights to the young girl:
“That’s the level of their education, that they’re coming to – they’re coming to daddy and saying ‘Daddy, did you plug the hole yet?’”
